Lol accendently voting!

Sorry for the accendently voting.. :D i voted 5 3.78 / 5.00 (+ 0.051) Before listening to it... lucky guy! :D

Now that i listened to it i think it deserves it!
You were saying its for a racing game ( menu ). Well i can understand that. The obvious racing-car sound.. And some vocals probably also has something to do with racing. The breakbeat is great. Kinda dnb'ish. To be honest. I hate that rif going trough the whole song. Well its kinda oke. But there's gotta be a big thumping bass under it! Maybe an reese sound for that extra racing feel.
Love the overal effect you used, including that stuttering.

Anyways,

-maybe make it longer? 45 seconds will not do sir!
-Maybe take my advice and put (another) Bass under it. Big and phat dnb-ish bass.
-Maybe some more race-based vocals? There's plenty on the web. Like
'start your engines' or some countdown.
-A big very melodic chorus! But now it might end up being a tottally different song!

My opinion is entirely based on my taste of music. So take it or not! >: (

Please check out my new song :)

itsameyayo responds:

Haha, I probably won't change it because it's more of a background theme than anything. I have so many other projects that I devote my time to, so in due time, you might see some of them ;)

-Yes, I will take a look at your newest song, thanks for the review!

Awesome!

Piano immediatley cought my attention! I love piano's!
slowly some pads roll in.
with a bassguitar and some tribalish beats! (?)
i dont really like the key change it might be too fast and forced. but when its finally playing i sorta like it. and its still building up! Im waiting for that snare roll and then some wicked dance song. Instead it gave me some slowmo part.

you obviously know what you are doing.

tips:
hard to give any. altough the key change might sound too sudden...
if you play low notes on the piano, they kinda sound cheap ( in my oppinion )
Maybe use a contrabass instead of bassguitar?
More orchestral sounds would be awesome
some more reverb/chorus on the piano would be awesome!

Hope you take my advice ;)

-firebolt-

please check out my new song!! :D

mjattie responds:

HEY tx for the awesome review :) I'll check your song out. Which kind of notes do you mean that sound cheap? the very low piano or the middle low piano? By the way, the contrabass is a good Idea although I like the bass guitar too ...

Liquid Filth! Yummm...

To be honest the intro was kinda boring.
But the rest was overal good.
The voice was kinda funny altough you could have edited it abit, like in reverb or repeating, slicing and stuttering like that. might add that extra tough in it ;)
about the Beat:
The kick lacked some bass and structure, i found it too weak for DNB.
the snare is good enough lots of attack and kinda harsh.
Hihat is OK. nothing really special but it is really repetive! If you hear some DNB songs the hihats fill up the beat tremendously! you should trying to make something simlair that way. ( sorry if it's offensive )

oke, the bass and other synths are intresting. but lack some dynamic. maybe add more bass. i like the sounds and its quit detailed! But it just sounds too light for dnb.

oke. tips
maybe add some more beat changes here and there. beat stops, rolls, ect. DNB really pushes the breakbeat's...
bass could get some more bass..
try improving hihats.
maybe try editing the vocal

thats it!
im not saying its bad but im just pointing out some negative points to help you ;)

-firebolt-

please check out my stuff!

yix1337 responds:

dont worry thats not offensive at all, what uve given me alot of decent constructive criticism, which i will try to take into account on my next pieces, newgrounds needs more people like you!

You made me fav this song! i hope your happy now..

god i love this! every single part of it.
but especially the chorus. that one just blew me away.
the balance of the main melo and those bleep like synth is perfect.
further more the sidechained pad was purfect :P
i already gave you enough reviewing material on this song. because i cant stop listhening to it! and each time it doesnt get bored :D now i play live on my keyboard with this song and its amazing. you dont stop impressing me do you?
keep it up and if i catch you online ill got a surpise for you :D

-firebolt-

Karco responds:

Thanks! :D

If by the bleep like synth you mean the arp synth, then yeah, it was a fun one to make/use. I've always wanted to use a synth like that. :D

And yeah, I figured, why not? I may as well sidechain the pad and keep it there instead of removing it while I'm at it. :D

A surprise? Have you shown me yet? :O

Anyway, glad you like it so much! :D It appears I'm good at this style, or at least I was at the peak. :D Thanks for the review.

great dance song!

i liked it! dancy. great melody and buildup. overall just fine.
however i did gave you a 8 now did i? ^^
thats because it could do so much better!
ganna try to sum it up chronological.
The piano is really nice! might be a tad too much delay but its oke.
then the saw like synth as an bass. might be too soft and weak for a bass.
kick is oke.. might be a little louder. i dont like that sample too much.
its an great buildup so far. altough the melody is constantly repeating it isnt that boring yet.
there is a certain lack of percussion/ hihats and claps. its a great way to fill the track up and make it more dance-able.
the bridge is amazing altough i would wanted that the piano would fade out. and that the gated synth would play trough. ( in the bridge not the chorus )
i liked those pads you got right there.
woud love to hear an acid synth in the background just for the heck of it. maybe add some more Fxes and cymbals.
its an great remix tough i might be too picky on dance songs...

what was bothering me is, that i cant remember the origenal melody. i know it from somewhere!

-firebolt-
please check out my stuff ;)

sonicxtreme responds:

yes ill take a look...anyway thanks 4 your time...peace

maybe got some remixing ideas :D

i liked it very much. kinda resembles funky house.
however it had some really loooooong boring parts. thats probably why some people vote it so low. alright its not perfect but it isnt that bad. to my opnnion some synths arent really giving that funky feeling that your trying to archieve. i did liked the overall song especially some basslines!
so... Intro: 3/5 im sorry its just to boring i had to skip it when listhening again :P
Beat and percs: 3.5/5 i might be harsh on you but. for house the beat must be banging! loud deep kick with heavy percs and on top that funky melo! but that might be me...
melody : well the melody was the bassline and i really liked it! 5/5 for that!
overall positive score: 11/15 do the maths yourself ^^

but i was wondering, what program do you use?
and any chance i might be able to remix it? :D would gladly do some heavier house/dance remix of this!

-firebolt-
ps. go check out my stuff if ya have time

Nightheaven responds:

A remix by Flaming Firebolt!Of course!
Brother I'm in love with your "Mario castle dance",and I think is one of the greatest works here on Newgrounds,I hear it almost every day!
Talkin' about the program...
I use Ejay House,a very simple program that allows me to have fun when I have time and insiration.
My purpose for the future is to adjust all my songs with a more proessional program.I'm surprised to see that my works (not perfect at all),are appreciated also in such a "rude" version!
If you really want to make a remix,I'll send you the "best quality version" LoL
Let's keep in contact (send me an-email,a Msn contact etc etc)

the intro is so different then the chorus :/

i always liked your fast amazing style.
but i was kinda misguided by the intro. ah well. its zero-bass so it better be any good >:)
altough the beat has some punch, i just think they lack a bit more bass. but ive never done anything like that kind of breakbeat so i dont know anything... however you do have a 'normal' kick like on evry quarter note just like dance/trance songs.
I like the way you used some orchestral like hits. the acid sounds in the beginning.
Fastness and energy that comes off this track. its an intresting mix.

however
i like the explosion at 0.45. when evrything suddenly poppes in. but it could do better, bigger explosion. i know evry intrument is there but yeah.. i expected some big hit or a slight silence or whatever. well its your song ^^

anyways evrything is so fast its almost hard to keep up. especially some background arp like synths. they have so much notes they feel like randomly playing notes in the right Key.. thats kinda akward but it would make sense if you played it in 140bpm wouldnt it? still amazing.
bleh, i want the 'secret' of your amazing music.. :D

-firebolt-
10 and 5vd

ZeRo-BaSs responds:

Thank you for your kick-ass review FlamingFirebolt!
The secret?? :D
1)Hear many music of different Electronic genres
2)Use Reason over and over.
3)Have a decent amount of samples

Thank you for your review and your support!

calm yet not boring

i like the way you combine these 'elements'.
the slight glitchyness in the beat. ( i like 'slight' glitchyness )
the acid bass/synth on the background to support it all.
and ofcourse the hoover! heh i love it! but i cant use it in any in my songs tough..
glad it still in some works. the bells makes it more melodic and the 'somewhat random' pads and effects here and there are perfectly placed. and the phaser effect is nice. not overpowering the whole song and melody. atleast your not lazy and you can think of an decent build/intro! however. there isnt a real ending.. like an ending note or beat hit... or a silence so it almost loops.... perfecly.. almost! if you made it loop into eachother it would probably a bit more background music instead of just for lishtening. i dont know what you really want to achieve but it sounds great. i can remember someone reffered to 'how its made' on the discovery channel. and i must agree at him with some point. if you would 'remove' the hoover it would sound almost the same. ( well the style would ). melodic, calm, with fantastic beats with lots of things to keep it intresting to listhen.
you deserve something atleast...
so heres my 10! haha

-firebolt-

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

Thanks for the excellent review

Glad you like the hoover, it was fun to incorperate. I guess the key to using it is leave a lot of room for it (just drums + bassline, and maybe some subtle synth hits) since its such a "huge" synth and dont overdo it, just use a few notes at a time, if that makes any sense. There might be some holes in what I just said, but thats what I think.

Thanks for noticing everything too. Yeah, the phaser was fun to adjust and get just the right sound so its potent yet not too powerful-I actually used it in two of my other tracks. As for the ending, my original intent was to stop it right there, go back into the beginning and add a different drum beat, and another synth. Unfortunately, that did not work out to well! So now all I got is the flute doing the sliding melody plus a retriggered snare rim. I guess I could have just left a moment of silence on, because its not really not meant to loop. The ending could be better for sure, thanks for the suggestion!

I still need to check a TV guide for that show, haha :P

Again, thanks for the detailed, helpful review, i enjoyed reading it!

nice

ive heard some other accepella's too. i bet they where from you! ( didnt checked sorry )
only i really liked the idea. but can you put some more effort in the beats? go learn some beatboxing. ( no offence )
anyways i wonder how you did it?
every 'midi channel ' sang and then put it together in some sort of program?
did you need some more takes for 1 melody?
it sounds realy funny and it makes me remind me of Katamari Damacy accepellla.
(if you dont know it go check it out)

sonicmega responds:

In terms of how I put this together, every separate "track" you hear (as in each different tone of voice) was recorded by itself in Windows Sound Recorder according to its placement in the song. After this was done for all the separate tracks, I went into Audacity and imported each of them, then tweaked each so that the voices came in when they needed to. Once everything was placed together to fit, the entire group was saved as a single track.

I agree that I don't exactly have beatboxing skills, nor have I ever, so practice could certainly be used here for the future. Nevertheless, thank you for your comment!

amazing!

damn i loved it!
ive never played a single game fox. the only way i knew the melo was from SSBM. ( and that wasnt very special ) but this version blew me away. it might be a litle simple with the 16bit sounds. but it pulls the trick anyways! its fast-paced with an amazing epic melo. ( altough not yours ). im inspired. wanna make my own corneria version. only more dancy , and i might say, higher quality sounds. not 16bit.
thanks!

Beartheshadows responds:

Thanks man, glad you liked it. I've wanted to redo this one for a long time, I can just never get around to it. Let me know when you get yours up. Good luck!

Enjoy my music :D
